Looking for a bright orange cocktail idea
I have some friends from the Netherlands who are turning 30 this week, and I'm hosting a party for them at my place. I figured I'd do something punch-ish (or at least batchable) for a celebratory cocktail. They both enjoy gin, so I was thinking something involving gin and Aperol to try and get an orange colour, topped up with sparkling wine (cheap Cava or Prosecco). Probably batch up the aperol/gin/whatever, then just top up with sparkling wine as guests want refills. My current thought is something along the lines of:2 parts gin1 part aperol1 part citrusmaybe 1 part OJ?1 part sweet (maybe triple sec? Or just a simple syrup... TS might be overkill)diluted with some water, and stored in the fridge to mimic dilution from icePortion out, top up with 4 parts sparkling, garnished with a slice of orange peel.Thoughts?
