Old Fashioned take - And a Bourbon request
So I have Luxardo cherries, but not oranges. So this is what I did:1 level barspoon superfine sugar2 Luxardo cherries1 barspoon Cointreau2 barspoons water3 dashes Angostura bitters2 jiggers Bulleit ryePlace the sugar, bitters, Cointreau, and water in an Old Fashioned glass. Add the cherries and muddle. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add several ice cubes to the glass. Add the whiskey. Stir gently.Critiques on the formulation? Also, this is a rye old fashioned, and I’d like to try it with bourbon. I love rye in cocktails, so I don’t actually have a bourbon. I don’t want to go exotic. Something normal and applicable to other cocktails. What comes to mind from previous discussions:BulleitBuffalo TraceKnob CreekEvan WilliamsAny recommendations among those, or maybe a better choice?
