How would you recreated this gin and basil cocktail?
I went to a local distillery that had a drink called "The Basil." The menu listed the ingredients as gin, orange juice, grapefruit juice, lime, "sweet" (which I take to be simple), and muddled basil. It was served in a collins glass (maybe 10oz?) that was filled with ice. With that much going on, there was no predominant flavor, besides the basil. The gin component was not particularly strong, but neither is their gin to begin with. The grapefruit was lost.Using these ingredients, how would you portion them to create a well balanced drink? My guess is as follows:2oz gin.75oz lime.75oz simple (maybe less because of the orange juice?)1oz orange1oz grapefruit1-2 fresh basil leavesI am completely guessing at the orange and grapefruit. http://www.reddit.com/r/cocktails/comments/3ersi8/how_would_you_recreated_this_gin_and_basil/
