Making apple bitters, hoping I didn't mess up
Hello everyone, I'm making apple bitters according to this recipe and I didn't realize that the water was for the second step so I added all of the spices, peels, bourbon, AND the water in the jar and I'm wondering how this will affect the outcome instead of just using straight bourbon.I imagine this will affect the bourbon's ability to extract the flavors, but I'm not sure by how much so I'm just wondering if I should dump the liquid and recover everything with just bourbon? It's been sitting for less than 24 hours at this point. Thanks for your help!
