How do you keep your olive brine?
Hey friends. My wife and I very much enjoy dirty martinis, which we make with the following recipe:1 1/2 oz Gin (Partial to Hendricks even though the botanicals are not necessarily the best match)1/3 oz Dry Vermouth1/2 oz Olive BrineNow, the vermouth I can keep up with as it lasts a decent while in the fridge. As I finish the brine in the open olive jar I have in my fridge - nursing one of these babies right now - I see the label suggest consuming the lives in 5 days after being opened. Boy let me tell you it has been way over that... Which brings me to my question:How do you guys preserve olive brine? It's a preservative in itself so I suppose if I open a jar of olives and drain the brine it should keep relatively well. Is that the case?Maybe I do that and add some juniper seeds to it? Has anyone tried anything different?
