I have a few bottles of rum, and have tried lots of basics. Wondering if there are any great cocktails I've missed out on, or if you had any suggestions based on my list.Rums:Flor De Cana 12Appleton VX (Gold /Jamaican)El Dordado 12 (Dark / Demerara)Lemonhart 151 (Overproof / Demerara)Smith and Cross (but really dont know how to use it, as its too funky for me)I dont have a Martinique Rhum or even a Blacks Strap. If a recipe calls for Puerto Rican gold i'd usually mix El Dorado12 & White.Liqueurs/aperitifs/syrups:Campari, Grand Mar, Cointreau, Elderflower, Peach, Grenadine, Orzeat, Cinnamon Syrup, Benedictine, Green Chart, Creme de Violette, Creme de Banana, Falernum, Dry Vermouth, Sweet Vermouth, Passion Fruit Syrup.Juices: Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit.Plants: Mint, CilantroBitters: Chocolate, Jamaican, Blackstrap, Peychuads(sp?), AngosturaHeres a list of drinks I make often or have tried.Astro Aku Aku, 151 Swizzle/Queens Park Swizzle, Bitter MaiTai, Beachcombers gold (modified), Daiquiri Naturale, Daiquiri #4, Don's own planters, Hemmingway Daiquiri, Mojito, Hotel National Special, Hurricane, Leilani Volcano, Jungle Bird, Jet Pilot, Kingston Negroni, Maneater, Mai Tai, Miehana, Beachbum Berry Grog Log, Platinum Peach, Swarm, Trinidad Sour, Test Pilot, New England Daiquiri, Rum Sour w/ chocolate bitters, Peacefield, Planters Punch (Stephen Remsberg), Periodista, Scorpion Bowl (Steven Crane ver), Shrunken Skull, Fog Cutter (Trader Vics), Twelve Mile Limit, Tahiti Ti, Zombie Mid Century, 1934, Rum Manhattan.I know its a long list but do you folks have any other recommendations?I'm looking for the best drinks that take advantage of the current rotation of rum, perhaps some better use of creme de violette/apricot, and bitters.
