My rum selection consists of
Flor De Cana Silver Don Q Gold Appleton XV Smith and Cross LemonHart 151
I replaced a bottle of Meyers as my "Dark Rum" with a bottle of Mt Gay Black Barrel, because it's all the liquor store had.
I'm going for a more minimalist rum selection and wanted to keep it around 5-6 bottles. It looks like there is some overlap between the DonQ um and Mt Gay. Can it be used as a " Dark" rum for recipes that call for it? I'm not looking to be historically accurate since I can't really afford 10 bottles. Just looking for a nice spread of rums. So.. How do I use this guy and is it worth buying another rum as my dark?
